Just heard today from a guy at work that the 'Lost Sheep Triathlon' swim will start in Kenmare at 7am. Is it worth waiting till the last rider starts the cycling section and heads west to the Healy Pass? I'm guessing they'll all be off on the road well before we start (at 9am?). It probably wouldn't look good for us to be in the way of any cyclists competing in this race.

Hi Mick, thanks for your post, great to share with all. Thats correct that the lost sheep tri is on the same day but by the time we start i think we will be okay.
Swim starts at 7am, should take 1.5hr maximum. ROB start time is 9.30am. However Niall has a contact for triathalon and will get more information just to be sure
Completely agree, we definitely do not want to get in the tri cyclists way while they are racing ðīââïļðīââïļðīââïļ.
Not sure if everyone saw the last post update on lunch, start time etc. I will re- post as there are two folders and people may be getting confused where information is.
Thanks again ðð

ROB UPDATE
Unfortunately as you can see by the weather forecast, its not looking very favourable for our spin in kenmare on Sat.
The commitee have been keeping a close eye on the forecast all week and hoping it would improve.
With regret we are considering postponing saturdays spin. There is yellow weather warning on fri for rain, meaning roads could be flooded. In addition, heavy showers and wind forecasted for saturday morning.
With the safety of our cyclists in mind and knowing how exposed we will be around the beara peninsula, the commitee will review the forecast again tomorrow morning and post our decision by lunchtime at the latest.
If only we could control the weather! ð

Great day folks and well done with the organisation it was really enjoyable. Food stop was excellent and the defibrillator in Glengarriff worked a treat.

A great day out as it happened. Only 2 showers on the way to Allihies. Sunshine after that for us except for a light sprinkling at the lunch stop (refreshing!)
